Get Movin’ Kennebunks, a group that is striving to make the Kennebunks the healthiest communities in Maine, while also raising funds for local wellness initiatives in the process, is holding its first event, The Most Miles in May Challenge.
Challenge yourself, a co-worker, or another family to walk the most miles in May! Track your miles with a pedometer that will be supplied to you when you register for the challenge and collect pledges based on the amount of miles you walk.
The funds raised from the May Challenge will support the construction costs for an Outdoor Adventure Classroom to be located at the Middle School of the Kennebunks. This will create an opportunity for all middle school students to enjoy a diverse learning experience in a range of curriculum subjects.
You may register for the May Challenge at Quest Fitness, located in the Goodall Health Center at 2 Livewell Drive, or you may call them 467-3800 for more information. Registration will take place from April 15th through May 1st. The May Challenge will run from May 1st through May 29th. A celebration cookout at Quest on May 29th from 12 noon until 2:00 pm will mark the close of the May Challenge. The first 250 participants to register will receive free Get Movin’ Kennebunks tee shirts as well as sponsor goodie bags. All participants will receive a pedometer.
This is the first step in making the Kennebunks the healthiest communities in Maine! Small achievable steps make big changes in people’s lives; Get Movin’ Kennebunks hope you accept the Challenge!
