Intensive & Special Care

Goodall’s Special Care Unit (SCU) is a 7 bed unit that provides close monitoring of patients with complex medical illness. The unit is designed and equipped to allow close monitoring with a low nurse to patient ratio. Advanced technology applications are abundant from computerized documentation to medication administration.

It is staffed by RN’s with Critical Care experience who work with our Internal Medicine and Family Practice providers to promote the best outcomes for our patients.

Visiting Cardiologists consult and assist in the care of our patients with heart disease. The SCU staff also care for surgical patients with heart or lung disease post operatively who require intensive respiratory or cardiac management.

The RN’s caring for our patients are supported by Monitor Technicians who constantly monitor our patients heart rhythm and vital signs at the nurses’ station.
