Maine Joint Replacement Center
The Maine Joint Replacement Center at Goodall Hospital is a Joint Commission certified total hip and knee replacement program.
The Joint Commission is the leading accrediting body for healthcare organizations nationwide. Goodall Hospital is one of only three hospitals in Maine, and the only hospital in New England under 150 beds, to hold this certification.
At the Maine Joint Replacement Center you will be attended to by highly trained, board certified orthopedic surgeons and top-notch physician assistants. You will be cared for by a full team of talented and concerned professionals and support staff. And you will receive the finest of care and service in your local, comfortable, reliable community hospital. As you begin the process you will be assigned a nurse to guide you through the screening and procedure process and you will attend a pre-surgery Joint Partners class where you will meet the surgical team as well as a patient who has gone through the process – all of who will be able to answer any questions you may have.
While you are recovering from surgery you will receive one-on-one attention for three daily therapy sessions and have access to plenty of amenities, including iPad2s and WiFi to pass the time.
Goodall’s Surgical Services boast some of the nation’s best scores on quality for infection prevention rates, and for prevention of serious adverse events, such as blood clots. The hospital also received the Joint Commission’s prestigious Top Performer on Key Quality Measurers Award for surgical care for 2010, making the hospital one of only three in Maine to receive this award.
